What techniques can I use when bass fishing on lakes?

Whe you are out bass fishing on a lake, there are numerous different techniques that you could use to make the most of your fishing hours. Although those you select should depend on the nature of the lake, the weather conditions and various other factors should as how receptive the bass are to certain methods, you should have a little knowledge of them all if you want to achieve a measure of success. The first method is fishing from a pier or bank. This is best used in areas of vegetation when the temperatures are cooler. Trawling your line through the vegetation slowly will grab the attention of the bass sheltering there. You can vary speeds depending on the nature of the vegetation but you should always make sure that you choose weedless lures when going for this option or else risk getting your line stuck or losing your favourites to the vegetation. Fly fishing is also an option in shallower water and is best used in spring when the bass are at their most lively. You could also use a boat and trawl for bass. This is a favourite technique because of how lively bass are in the lakes. However, you do need a larger body of water to be able to take full advantage of trawling for bass. The idea is that you set several lines at various depths and with various lures and baits on them and then move around at a speed of around 1.5 knots. You could also find a specific place to drop anchor and fish in the one spot but this may not prove as productive.
