The Top Bass Fishing Rigs and How They Are Secured

One of the top types of bass fishing rigs is called the Carolina rig and the weight is placed higher up the line away from the plastic worm. The Carolina jig can also be very effective when used with other lures such as crankbaits. This is probably the most common type of rig used today because it will help keep your lure from touching bottom. This reduces the number of snags you have to deal with.

You will need to thread the sinker first. Normally the slip sinker will weigh around 1/2 ounce to 1 ounce for the best results. Right below the sinker at the end of the line you will need to tie on a swivel. On the other end of the swivel you will tie on a line that ranges between one and a half foot and two and a half feet in length. At the end of this line is where you will tie the hook or lure of your choice and you can add beads as well if you desire. These will help it perform a little better.

Your presentation is very important when using bass fishing rigs. If you move too fast the bass will not be interested. So taking some time to practice will help you find the right movements that will attract the most bass. When shopping for plastic worms and other bait to use on bass fishing rigs you will find that you have a wide variety of styles, colors and sizes to choose from. Go for some variety and experiment a little to see what kind of results you can get with the different styles and colors available. Now you should feel more comfortable using bass fishing rigs.
