How to Choose Bass Fishing Resorts

Is the Lake or Reservoir Stocked? – This can be a big issue when it comes to choosing a resort location.  Most people are going to catch fish.  This is the bottom line aside from the family and entertainment.  Going to a resort that annually stocks its fishing area is going to mean that there is a better chance that there is going to be some pretty big fish that can be brought out.

This can make the outing much more fun for those who want to teach their children to fish as well.  If the body of water is private, it is going to be even easier to catch some fish and the trophies are going to be much larger as well.  Those who want more of a challenge may want to stick to areas that are not stocked.  It is really a personal choice.

Are Boats Provided? – Some resorts are going to have boats available to their vacationers so that they do not need to bring their own.  Before booking the trip, know what the limits are and if you need to bring your own boat or if one is going to be provided in the cost or if there are going to be more costs associated with using a boat for the fishing trip.  If a boat is provided, is it going to be captained or are you going to be able to go out where and when you want?

In some cases, there may be a charter that is going to take you to the most common fishing sites that can award the fishermen with the most catches.  Some may appreciate having a knowledgeable person aboard who knows the lake and others may want to be able to do their own thing when they are fishing.  They may not want to be stuck on a charter boat with a bunch of strangers.

These are the most important issues to consider when planning a bass fishing resort trip.  While some issues may be more important than others, all should have equal consideration.  Speak to your family and see what they would consider to be a great resort area and decide where to go.  If you need to bring your own boat, figure out the route you are going to drive to get the resort with the boat in tow.
