Hi Dan – my 11 year old fishing fanatic has finally saved enough money to go bass fishing in Texas. He’s been dreaming about this for two years! We wanted to go in April and are trying to find the best place to go that also had a good selection of guides. (I don’t fish so the guide is going to be important). It looks like Feb. and March may be a better time to go – should we hold off for another year?

You don’t say how muchmoney you have saved up so it is hard to say for sure. As a tip you can save a great deal of money by going during the week rather than over the weekend. The demand is higher over the weekend so it will cost you more. You can go online to compare what is offered by various guides. Some of them will do wonders with children and others aren’t good with them. You want to find a patient guide that is friendly and that enjoys children so that it will be a wonderful experience for your child and for you. There are plenty of locations around Texas where you can find charters so that is to your benefit. It means that you will be able to really compare what they offer. You can also reduce perks to help you cut pricing. Your child will be more impressed with the overall fishing than anything else.
