One of the first things that you’ll want to do is learn how to use the lures you choose correctly. This is all in your presentation. Take some time to learn how to place them on the hook correctly. The way they’re hooked will affect the way they move through the water. You need the lure to look as real as possible so you need to hook them where they can move the way they were designed to.

Take advantage of going bass fishing on days when it’s overcast and drizzling rain. The bass will be very active on these days but many anglers miss out because they think it has to be clear before they can head out to the water. Obviously, you wouldn’t want to go fishing when it’s storming but just drizzling is an excellent time to fish.

When you get to the water look around and see what type of baitfish is in the area. This will give you a good idea as to which lures will be the best to start out with. It’s also a good idea to double check all your gear before you head out to the water. This way you won’t leave anything behind that you’ll need such as extra tackle and fishing line.
