7 Deadly Winter Bass Fishing Tips

Bring a First Aid Kit
Winter fishing can be extremely fun, but at the same time it can be dangerous. Many fishermen are stubborn and think that they will never come into a situation where they are battling for their life. The seas are unforgiving which means that anything can happen on the open sea. Coming prepared for these situations is important and having a first aid kit on board can even save your life. First aid kits can usually be bought at local tackle shops and they only cost a few dollars.

Bring a Radio
As a fisherman it is important to be able to stay in contact with the coast guard. The coast guard exists to protect unsuspecting fishermen of the dangers of the ocean as well as other nature. Radios can be a bit on the expensive side, but many boats have them built in. If anything goes wrong with your boat having a radio could be the difference between life and death. Even though radios can be expensive, no amount of money is equal to what a person’s life is worth.

Wear a Life Jacket
Many experienced fishermen do not even take a moment to consider wearing a lifejacket on the water. The reason for this is that they do not view fishing as a dangerous activity. The fact of the matter is that if you are fishing on the ocean your life is at stake. You never know what is going to happen. If a wave smashes into your bought you could be defenseless without a life jacket. Being prepared is the key to preventing accidents that could cost you your life. By following these winter bass fishing tips you will be able to be safe and enjoy fishing at the same time!
